Leading the Learning Cat 1 virtual workshop with IBICUS
The "Leading the Learning" workshop offered participants a transformative and immersive experience, equipping them to lead their schools in cultivating a culture that places student learning at the heart of the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Through reflective discussions, collaborative activities, and targeted planning exercises, participants explored the IB's mission, philosophy, and standards, gaining a deeper understanding of their roles as leaders within a global context. This clarity empowered leaders to take ownership of their responsibilities, not only as leaders but as active agents of meaningful and sustainable educational change.
Throughout the workshop, participants worked closely with peers to strategize ways to inform and engage their school communities, fostering collaboration and shared ownership of the MYP journey. They explored practical approaches to communicating their vision, building enthusiasm among teachers, students, and parents, and ensuring alignment with IB standards.
The workshop culminated with the participants creating personalized action plans on standards and practices designed to meet IB authorization requirements and support long-term program growth. Leaders left the workshop equipped with practical tools, renewed confidence, and a clear vision to guide their schools in fostering vibrant, learning-centred environments that reflect the IB’s mission and inspire success in a globalized world. A huge thank you to everyone for making this learning journey so transformational - I wish you all the greatest success on your journey to MYP authorisation!
