Learning Walks with Senior Leadership Teams

An area of my work that brings me great joy is visiting schools to support their growth and development. This isn’t about evaluation—it’s about working alongside school leaders and teachers, helping them build strong practices in areas such as inquiry-based learning (IBL), Universal Design for Learning (UDL), skill development, change management and curriculum design.

I regularly go on learning walks with senior leadership teams, sparking great conversations about what’s working well and where we can grow. After each visit, I put together a report that celebrates great practice and offers ideas for further development.

I’ve seen firsthand how this approach makes a real impact, for example, the schools in The Leigh Academies Trust, where these practices have helped strengthen teaching, leadership, and student success.

At the heart of it all, my goal is simple - helping schools create more inclusive, student-centred learning spaces where every learner thrives. And I love every moment of it!
